Why We Recommend Visbiome® Over VSL#3

After the inventor of the original probiotic formulation (Professor Claudio De Simone) ended his relationship with VSL Pharmaceuticals in 2016, VSL#3 changed their manufacturing process and formula. Professor De Simone now manufactures the original formulation as Visbiome®.

In 2018, a $15 million jury verdict found that VSL Pharmaceuticals falsely claimed their new VSL#3 formulation was equivalent to the original De Simone Formulation. The court issued a permanent injunction to prevent VSL#3 from creating "false continuity" between their copy product and the original formulation.

In 2023, another federal court ruled against Brookfield Pharmaceuticals for falsely advertising their product as a "generic equivalent" of Visbiome®. The court found that:

• Brookfield's product has a "different composition" than Visbiome®
• Claims that it contained "the same strains" and "the same probiotic bacteria" as Visbiome® were false
• Brookfield was ordered to send corrective letters confirming their product is NOT equivalent to Visbiome®

Only Visbiome® contains the exact strains, proportions, and manufacturing process used in all the published clinical studies. It is manufactured by the original inventor (Professor De Simone) and is the only product that can legitimately claim to be the clinically-studied formulation.
